The SEO Basecamp Live Training Group

A Roadmap for Private Practice Owners Who Want to Create and Implement an SEO Strategy that Gets Them More Traffic and Clients.

When your ideal clients search for your therapy services online, are they able to find you?

Your website has been created and you’re ready to market your services to the world!

However, when you look at the analytics (if you have them) you can see that people just aren’t showing up to the website.

So you wonder, “how can I get more clients if no one even knows I exist?”

So, after doing a bit of research and talking to colleagues, you learn that SEO (search engine optimization) is what you need to do in order to attract traffic to your website and create a steady flow of new clients in your business.

So you start learning what you can about optimizing your website through YouTube, podcasts and blog posts.

And that’s when the confusion sets in.

Which keywords should I use? Where exactly do I put them? What content do I need on my website and how do I even write that stuff so Google finds it?

After some time, you’ve pieced some of this SEO stuff together but you’re not entirely sure whether you’ve done it right, missed a step, or if you’re on the right track.

You’re kinda just doing what everyone is suggesting but you’re not sure how it all fits together.

So you’re left wondering if clients will ever be able to find you and whether getting new clients from Google each month just may be a pipe dream.

When it comes to SEO for their private practice website, I see therapists make these mistakes:

They’re basing their entire SEO strategy on a few tutorials or videos instead of assessing where they are now and where they want to go.

They don’t have the right type of content or the right amount of content for search engines to take notice so their competitors win the SEO game every time.

They’re not using the right keywords – the ones that their ideal clients are using to search for their services – so they waste their time writing copy that no one will find.

They expect their traffic and keywords to improve quickly after putting a few keywords on their website instead of taking an iterative approach – one based on what their analytics say instead of what they feel.

They don’t take a holistic approach to their SEO strategy. You see, in order to make the most impact on your SEO and get more clients to your website, we need to make sure the Four Mountains of Successful SEO are in place: technical SEO, content strategy, on-site SEO, and off-site SEO.

You need an SEO strategy that works for YOU. Not one pieced together from YouTube tutorials and blog posts.

While there are certainly key factors and strategies that will help your website get found in Google, each private practice is different.

The trouble with trying to piece together an SEO plan from YouTube tutorials is that you’ll find yourself only addressing a few pieces of the SEO puzzle, and missing out what’s really going to move the needle for you and your business.

It’s like being dropped in the middle of the ocean without a compass – you won’t know which way to go.

What you need is a roadmap that shows you where your SEO stands right NOW and how to get to where you want it to be.

Hi, I’m Daniel,

Founder of Create My Therapist Website and Private Practice Elevation. My team and I help therapists and private practice owners increase their visibility and attract more clients through elevated website design and SEO services.

When my wife was first starting her private practice back in 2011, I jumped into action and built her website using WordPress. We saw first-hand how important it was to have the right kind of content on her website in order to get her ideal clients to show up to it month after month.

So it became my mission to help other practitioners do the same with their own websites, providing simple tools and training to market a practice online and fill up their calendar with clients they love.

At Private Practice Elevation, we imagine a world where every private practice owner can reach the clients they love, expand their impact and build the business and life of their dreams. When our clients succeed, they can help even more people who need mental health services.

Because of that, I belive our work can literally help save lives.

Introducing The SEO Basecamp Live Training Group

A Roadmap for Private Practice Owners Who Want to Create and Implement an SEO Strategy that Gets Them More Traffic and Clients.

SEO Basecamp Live is a 9-week, small group training, consisting of video training and live implementation classes.

Over the course of 9 weeks I’ll give you access the exact SEO process that we use at Private Practice Elevation to help our clients set up the foundational SEO elements that will get them more organic traffic and clients.

You’ll get to follow along as I create an SEO strategy for a real life example – my wife’s own private practice website!

Each week you’ll have a lesson to watch based one aspect of improving your online visibility.

With each lesson you’ll receive the resources, templates and homework to start implementing what you’ve learned.

Then we’ll all meet as a group for an “Implementation Call” to clear any roadblocks, answer questions that may come up, get feedback on your progress and hold each other accountable.

This class will be limited to just 15 people so that we can work closely together and make sure you get the attention and results that make an impact on your business.

What You’ll Learn

The SEO Basecamp Live Training Group will give you that roadmap and walk you through, creating an SEO foundation that you can build on for months and years.

Each week a new training video will be released, followed by a live implementation Zoom call.

Welcome Week: Feb 12, 2024

We’ll lay out the groundwork for building a solid SEO foundation by reviewing the curriculum in detail and getting you set up with just 3 tools we’ll need to track your SEO progress.

You’ll also learn more about “The 4 Mountains of SEO Success” that make up a holistic SEO strategy.

Week 1:

Assessing Your Website for SEO – Feb 19

Most people don’t know where to begin with SEO, so they just jump in without a plan. We need a baseline on your website and online visibility before we can begin. You’ll learn how to assess your current SEO performance so you can identify your best opportunities and know where you’re starting from.

Week 2:

Keyword Research – Feb 26

We’ll answer the age-old question, “what keywords should I use on my website?” You’ll learn how to quickly identify keywords and quantify them so you know you’re using keywords that will actually result in organic traffic. You can’t optimize your website for search engines without knowing what keywords will bring in results.

By the end of this lesson you’ll have a spreadsheet filled with phrases you can use on service pages and blog posts to help you rank higher.

Week 3:

Your SEO Content Strategy – March 4 & March 11

Content is the backbone of SEO, that’s why we’ll actually spend 2 weeks on this subject. Together we’ll evaluate your current content and create a plan that’s easy to execute. You’ll map out which pages need updating, which pages need to be created and come up with blog post topics that will support your SEO strategy.

Week 4:

On-Site Optimization – March 18

Now that you know which keywords to use and which pages need updating (or creating), it’s time to implement. You’ll work through a simple checklist to put those keywords in the right places on each page you’re optimizing. By the end of this lesson you’ll have a solid foundation of pages that have been optimized so that you can start seeing some improvements in your rankings.

Week 5:

Off-Site Optimization – March 25

Off-site SEO is everything that happens outside of your website. You’ll gather ideas for getting links from other websites. During this week we’ll also optimize your Google Business Profile to help with local SEO efforts and compliment the SEO work you’re doing on your website.

Week 6:

Next Steps + Tracking Progress – April 1

SEO is an ongoing, iterative process. You’ll learn how to check your progress and determine opportunities. You’ll learn how to take all the strategy you’ve created and what you can do to build upon the SEO foundation you’ve built in order to accelerate your organic traffic in the following months and years.

What’s Included :

  • 7 modules with video trainings to walk you through the process as I optimize an actual private practice website
  • 9 live weekly “Implementation Calls” to clear any roadblocks, answer questions that may come up, get feedback on your progress and hold each other accountable. The calls will be recorded and available for replay. Calls are held each Tuesday at 11 AM EST.
  • A private community group for support in between the lessons and Implementation Calls
  • An SEO Workbook – A master Google Sheet containing your entire SEO strategy – just follow the lessons and fill it in as you go
  • Copy templates to help you fill in SEO content gaps and quickly write copy for pages like service pages, FAQs, location-specific landing pages and contact pages

Frequently Asked Questions

Yup. SEO can be confusing. Here are some answers to our most frequently asked questions about SEO.

Why do I need an SEO strategy for my private practice?

I’ve seen the impact that a solid SEO plan can have on a private practice. From my own wife’s website to our SEO clients, knowing what you need to do (and then doing it!) to grow your organic traffic can yield new clients for months and years in the future.

You can think of your website traffic as simply another referral source in your business. Just like a network of colleagues who refer to you, having search engines working to bring you clients can mean you don’t have to worry about where your next client will come from.

Who is this SEO training group for?

The SEO Basecamp Live Training Group is for private practice owners who want to create and implement a solid SEO strategy for their businesses.

It’s best suited for folks who have a basic understanding of what SEO is, and have maybe tried to “do” SEO in the past but struggle to put all the pieces together.

If you want a step-by-step plan to map out where your SEO stands right now and where you want it to be, and all the building blocks in between to get you there, this is for you.

It’s also best suited for folks who have the capacity to do the work. You’ll need to carve out a few of hours each to watch the training, do the work and participate in the live calls. Depending on the current state of your website’s content, you may need to devote more time to content writing.

If you prefer to go at your own pace, that’s fine. The calls will be recorded and you’ll have ongoing access to the online course.

What do I need before I begin this training?

You need a website! If you don’t have a website, you’ll have nothing to optimize for search engines.

It’s helpful if you already have Google Analytics installed on your website, but if not, we’ll show you how to set that up.

We’ll be using Google Docs and Sheets to write content and keep track of our work. Prior usage of Google Docs and Sheets is helpful, but not a requirement.

Lastly, you should have some sense of who your ideal client is and the services you offer. This will help you when it comes to the keyword research phase of your SEO plan.

When will the live calls take place?

Each lesson’s Implementation Call will take place the week after the lesson is made available. This is to give you time to watch the lesson, take action, and gather any questions you may have.

Implementation Calls will happen weekly on Tuesdays at 11 AM EST. They are 1 hour long.

If you can’t make the calls, they will be recorded and made available for you in the private community.

Depending on people’s schedules, I like to also hold “catch-up” implementation calls from time to time to make sure people can get some live support if they can’t make the weekly calls.

What if I can’t make it to the live calls?

Each Implementation Call will be recorded and made available in the online course platform so that you can catch up.

If you have a specific question, you’ll be able to ask it in the private community group. If your question will benefit the entire group, I may answer it on that week’s Implementation Call so everyone can benefit.

Is this an online course, live class, or combination?

What’s unique about this training group is that it will be a combination of recorded modules and live implementation Zoom sessions. Each week, we’ll release a new lesson. This means everyone in the small group will move at a similar pace with each lesson building on the previous one.

You’ll watch the lesson and begin taking action. Then we’ll meet on Zoom and you’ll have a chance to ask questions, get feedback on your SEO strategy, and get ideas from the other students that you can apply to your own business.

Will there be other costs associated with creating my SEO strategy?

I want this training group to be as affordable as possible to help you get the SEO momentum that will really impact your business.

That being said, the tools that will save you the most time and speed up your success just aren’t free to use.

The only other cost required will be an SEO tracking and research platform that we’ll use to create an SEO dashboard for your business called Ubersuggest.

Ubersuggest offers a free 7-day trial that you can use to get familiar with the tools they offer. After that, you can pay $29/mo to use it, or $290 for a lifetime account. At a minimum, you could use it for 2 months to go through the training and then decide if you want to continue.

I highly recommend lifetime access if you plan to make SEO part of your long-term strategy for getting new clients. SEO is an iterative process and takes time. We’ll show you how to use the data month after month to continue improving your rankings and traffic.

What will the schedule look like? How long will it take me to create and implement my SEO strategy?

Once you sign up for the course, you’ll be able to watch the first video and start getting what you need to begin.

Each Wednesday, a new lesson will be available for you to view and start your weekly homework.

The Implementation Call related to each lesson will take place on Tuesday at 11 AM EST the following week.

Here is the full schedule:

  • Welcome week: 2/12 – 2/16
  • Week 1 Assessment: 2/19 – 2/23
  • Week 2 Keyword research: 2/26 – 3/1
  • Week 3 Content: weeks of 3/4 – 3/8 & 3/11 – 3/15
  • Week 4 Onsite Optimization: 3/18 – 3/22
  • Week 5 Offsite Optimization: 3/25 – 3/29
  • Week 6 Next Steps: 4/1 – 4/5
  • Final Implementation Call – 4/9
How long will I have access to the lesson videos, resources and live call recordings?

Once you sign up for the group you’ll have continual access to the training material, videos, content templates, and live call recordings. This means you can always come back and pick up where you left off or refresh your SEO strategy in the coming months and years.

Should we decide to move the course to a new platform or close it, you will be given advanced notice so you can download all the materials and videos.

What if I have questions along the way?

We expect you to! That’s why we’ll have a private online community where you can ask questions and post your work for feedback from me or the group in general.

The weekly Implementation Calls will focus on answering any questions you may have along the way or provide more context for the training.

Does my website need to be on WordPress?

Not at all. The SEO strategy and work that you’ll complete can be applied to any website platform.

When will I see results with my SEO?

SEO is a long-term strategy for the organic growth of your private practice. We wish we could see results from SEO overnight, but that’s not the case. Typically, our SEO Basecamp clients see improvements in their rankings within the first few weeks of optimizing their website. However, significant growth and a rise in organic traffic can take anywhere from 6-12 months. Search engines want to see that your website has high-quality content, backlinks, and consistent activity, which can take time to put in place.

We like to compare it to investing in a 401k. Your rate of return when you retire will be impacted greatly by your level of investment and consistency over time. Once you’ve created your SEO strategy during our time together, the next step is to carry it out by continually implementing pieces of it over time.

Do you offer a Results Guarantee?

We simply can’t offer results guarantees tied to specific keywords or traffic volume. Why? Because SEO is dynamic. It changes constantly based on many factors. Because of that, and no matter what others may tell you, guarantees are just not possible with SEO.

We believe that a guarantee when it comes to specific results is actually a red flag. Agencies guaranteeing rankings either lack experience or aren’t being honest.

The SEO Basecamp Live Training Group is an amazing 101-level course to learn about SEO in general as well as resources to continue exploring what can help optimize your website for more organic traffic. The SEO workbook along with additional tools/resources given helps to make the process more digestible and manageable.
